Kiyomizudera Temple 6/29/23
Thursday, my group visited Kiyomizudera Temple. It is an awesome pagoda that overlooks Kyoto. It was hot and humid, and kind of a hike up the hill, but all worth it, as the wooden stage which overlooks the valley boasts fantastic views. Students have a week left in Kyoto, and next week will take the STAMP test again. Many report that their Japanese language ability has grown immensely in just three weeks.
Meanwhile, the streets around here are gearing up for the fantastic Gion Matsuri, when massive, elaborate parade floats are pushed manually through the streets by hundreds of people.
