Inspiring us to enjoy the moment!
We welcomed our final week in the program with energy and excitment for the activities ahead!
The program's opportunities for students to volunteer and participate in practical activities are their favorites. On Monday, we traveled to the plant nursery to collaborate with the local staff on projects like soil preparation, soil bagging, and tree maintenance for the future trees we will plant on the campus.
Due to the efforts of the students, we were able to forward tasks for the local employees that occasionally take time but can be effectively completed with more aid.
Hands to work with our final projects! The students are working incredibly hard on their capstone projects.
It is incredibly motivating to observe how well they function as a team and how much their work-related subject excites them. For instance, the artificial ponds on the CIEE campus are being restored by Kay, Miranda, Catie, Ella, and Ingrid. These ponds are essential to safeguarding the various frog species that live on the school.
Frogs need a redesign of their habitat!
We also started looking for regional trinkets to bring home! We visited the cosmetics farm where we discovered the components produced in Costa Rica and how to make homemade soap.
At CIEE we have learned to work as a team, to enjoy our present moment and to believe in our inner power to change the world!
