Guacamole Skills
This week, students visited the local produce market ¨Lucas de Gálvez¨. They were shopping for some ingredients that were going to be used at the end of the week for a guacamole contest. They were introduced to new types of vegetables and chiles for the first time.
Yesterday, we had our guacamole contest! Each team chose their own recipe and prepared it with the ingredients they bought. Students did amazing while picking the avocados, tomatoes, onions and each team picked a secret ingredient to incorporate. All groups definitely did a great job preparing their guacamole while giving instructions in Spanish, but only one team could win. Based on flavour and presentation, Los Hijos de K'uk'ulkan were the winners! Hopefully, students will go back home and share their recipes with their families.
