Gazpacho and Paella
On Tuesday of the second week of the program, HONORS students learned how to make a refreshing gazpacho and a delicious paella.
María and Belén explained a bit about those traditional dishes, like how paella came from Valencia and that they originally used chicken, or rabbit, or snails! Nowadays it is very common to add seafood.
We also learned about the ingredients. Saffron is super popular as a spice for paella, but did you know that one kilogram of it costs over €3,000! Finally, they showed us how to prep and in what order to cook them.
We all participated in the making of gazpacho and paella, which I belive is the reason why it came out so well!
