Enchanted Lisbon — Student takeover: Molly and Sophia
Today, we went to Lisbon and took a tuk-tuk tour around the city.
We took pictures at a gorgeous spot over looking multiple monuments such as the Castle of St. George, the Cristo Rei, and the 25 de Abril bridge. We also got to see the Lisbon Cathedral !
After our tour, we got the chance to go explore by ourselves and have a first-hand experience in the busy and lively atmosphere. We went shopping and got lunch before meeting up as a group again and going to see more popular places.
After visiting Jerónimos Monestary, where sailor, Vasco da Gama is buried, we enjoyed some delicious Pastéis de Nata in a local park.
We then went to the Padrão dos Descobrimentos and a small fort on the Tagus River called Torre de Belém.
It was an action packed day that taught us about the city of Lisbon and its important history. In the following days we present our research on Biodiversity, which we have been working on for most of the trip. Although I am nervous about it, I know that the next day we will get to return to Lisbon and visit the amazing aquarium.
We can't wait, stay tuned!
