A Day of Baking and.... Bog Jumping?
After a week of morning classes and afternoon excursions around Dublin, the Advocating Social Justice students spent their Saturday at Causey Farm in Girley, Ireland. The day was filled with activities such as making traditional soda bread and encountering farm animals including chickens, pigs, cows, and llamas. One of the great aspects of CIEE is the varied life experiences of the students; those accustomed to farm life helped introduce it to their peers who were experiencing it for the first time. The highlight of the day was a tractor ride to a bog, where the students had the opportunity to jump into it. After their bog adventure, the students then traveled to the picturesque Trim Castle. Sunday was a relaxing day spent exploring the town of Dun Laoghaire.
