Build-A-Piñata Workshop
Monday afternoon provided our Language and Culture scholars with a fun, relaxing, and artistic opportunity: build-a-piñata workshop! In their academic groups, students put their creativity and design skills to the test in this friendly competition. Discarded and recyclable materials were available in addition to the requisite piñata materials such as balloons, tissue paper, and glue. It was delightful to witness the enthusiastic teamwork and camaraderie among members of each group, who have spent nearly a month together in their pursuit of increased Spanish language proficiency and Yucatecan cultural discovery. Our fourth and final week is upon us and we are grateful for the lasting friendships and unforgettable memories our time at CIEE Institute, Mérida, Yucatán, has afforded us.
