Beach Day
After a very busy week of making friends, starting classes and getting acquainted with host families and Mérida, our program participants were ready for a day of fun at the beach. About an hour outside of Mérida there is a popular beach town called Progreso. We spent the day at a beach resort. The participants played in the warm waters of the gulf, started up some games of volleyball, hung out by the pool and took some insta-worthy pics. Some made friends with the local iguanas (at a respectful distance) and strengthened bonds with their new, human friends.
The rest of the weekend was spent with their host families. Ask your participant about their Sunday! Some stayed in and got some much needed rest while others went out on new adventures. It has been an awesome start to our month abroad with the best group of program participants.
