Bailando Flamenco en Sevilla ¡Olé!
Hola Hola!
Just a quick update about all the awesome stuff HSSA Seville Session II has been up to. I can hardly believe we're already halfway through the program! As they say in Spanish, "El tiempo vuela cuando te diviertes" ~"Time flies when you're having fun!"
Last week, we had a "Flamenco Dance Lesson" on the schedule. Needless to say, there were varied opinions in the group about this activity. Some students were pumped, some students would rather have jumped into the Guadalquivir than have put on a huge Flamenco skirt and danced around in a small studio with their peers.
However, our group's instructor Rocío was an actual Flamenco goddess and everyone, yes everyone, had a great time! I heard students in the group say, "That was actually a lot more fun than I expected!" and "Are we gonna get to do that again?" Everyone participated with enthusiasm, and I think I can safely say that we all improved considerably.
Perhaps most importantly, the students got to know one another better, practiced their Spanish, and got to experience this amazing part of Spanish culture first hand. I'm so proud!
To see our students absolutely killing it, check out this video.
