An Afternoon at the Zoo
Yesterday our group of HSSA students ventured to the Rabat Zoo to explore and practice their animal vocabulary! The Rabat zoo, which is also known as "Temara Zoo", is the largest zoo in North Africa. The zoo is well known for it's conservation efforts of the descendants of the Atlas lions, lions that were native to Morocco. The species has been extinct in the wild for decades, but the students were able to see some of the last remaining the Atlas lions at the zoo. Students practiced their Arabic by searching for and finding the tiger, fox, crocodile, and white lions. They also enjoyed seeing the flamingos, rhinos, and giraffes among many other animals!
