Excursions & Activities
CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Dublin will open doors for you to explore Ireland’s rich diversity, language, culture, history, contemporary trends, vibrant art, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.
Samples of past excursions and activities:
- Visit 1,000-year-old cathedrals, take in a traditional hurling match at Croke Park, or wander through the pedestrianized Grafton Quarter
- Explore the 6th-century monastery of Glendalough in the rugged Wicklow Mountains and a tour of the medieval city of Kilkenny
- Take in scenic views on a coastal hike in the village of Howth before dining on freshly caught fish and chips

Housing & Meals
Housing
CIEE Dublin offers housing in apartments located in student residence communities. All housing options are located in lively districts with multiple dining options, convenient public transport, and are within 30 minutes of walking access to central Dublin.
Standard Housing: Includes a private bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, a dedicated study space, and ample storage in an apartment suite shared with up to seven other students. All students share common spaces, a kitchen, and laundry facilities. Apartments are located under 45 minutes from CIEE Dublin and 30 minutes to the city center by public transport.
Select Housing: Includes a private bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, a dedicated study space, and ample storage in an apartment suite shared with up to seven other students. All students share common spaces, a kitchen, and laundry facilities. Apartments are located under 20 minutes from CIEE Dublin and 20 minutes to city center by public transport. Select housing requires an additional fee.
A note: The default criterion to assign housing is first-come, first-served; however, other factors may also be considered. If we cannot accommodate your first housing choice, we'll let you know before you arrive.
Meals
Meals are not included in the program housing, but a wide range of restaurants, markets and stores are located in the local area.
Transportation
Commuting time from housing location to internship will vary depending on the location of the internship provider.
Academics
CIEE Dublin: Study on the 19th-century All Hallows campus of Dublin University, CIEE’s partner institution, located in the suburb of Drumcondra, roughly one mile north of the city center. CIEE Dublin features classrooms, an academic advising office, and a convenient café.
Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by CIEE in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with optional online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 6-week sessions that fit within the CIEE academic calendar.

To help you budget, keep in mind that students are responsible for the cost of international airfare, local transportation, books and supplies, visas, and personal expenses. In addition, your college or university may charge additional fees for study abroad, or may require you to receive a transcript via CIEE's School of Record, which carries an additional fee of $500.
Program Fees
CIEE offers the most student support of any provider in its program fee, including an airport greeting, full-time leadership and support, orientation, cultural activities, local excursions, pre-departure advising, and CIEE iNext travel protection with benefits.
Financial Aid
CIEE offers the most grants and scholarships of any study abroad organization, including $8 million/year in travel grants, merit-based scholarships, institutional and MSI grants, and Gilman Go Global Grants.
