Northwestern students are also able to participate on CIEE summer programs on an unaffiliated basis. If interested, students should submit a Northwestern application for an unaffiliated summer program by February 10th. Students cannot petition retroactively for study abroad credit.
Northwestern students are not permitted to be mobile during the Open Campus block program. Students studying abroad at an Open Campus location must remain in that location for the entire duration of the program. All questions about this requirement can be directed to the Northwestern Global Learning Office (GLO).
Note that no financial assistance is available through Northwestern for unaffiliated summer programs. This includes federal loans, federal/state grants, Northwestern scholarship, parent/private loans, and other forms of aid.
