Academics
Our programs stretch you beyond the classroom walls, offering you the chance to immerse yourself in the culture and gain the skills you need to succeed in your academic career and beyond.
Internships
CIEE offers a range of full-time and part-time internships abroad as well as virtual internship opportunities for students. With internships spanning a wide range of fields including public policy, the arts, business administration and marketing the possibilities are endless. You will develop the skills needed to pursue a career in a field you love.
Volunteering
Opportunities abound for those wanting to make a difference. Immerse yourself in the local culture and connect with locals in a completely different way. You’ll work closely with a partner NGO to get unparalleled first-hand experiences in the community and an impactful, deeper understanding of local issues including the environment, public health, education, and community projects.
Research Projects
Many students opt to discover their own path and have authentic research experiences while abroad. Students have done projects like Economic Impact of Brexit and Citizen Journalism and Online Activism. Working alongside our talented international faculty, only an inability to dream big can hold you back.
Signature Program
CIEE’s Open Campus Block Programs are unique, flexible study abroad programs that give you control over the design of your study abroad experience including your courses, the length and even your destination! The Open Campus calendar is flexible and worked with all school calendars. Just simply choose to do a 6-week program (one block), 12 weeks (two blocks), or 18-week (three blocks).
Some students who opt for three blocks spend each at a different CIEE location. Choose from Berlin, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, Copenhagen, London, Madrid, Monteverde, Paris, Rome, Santiago, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, and the Yucatán.

Safety
CIEE’s Health, Safety and Security team analyzes the everyday risks at each location and works with local staff to provide clear guidelines and report incidents swiftly to protect all students and staff.
We understand each country and city present different risks and our collaborative relationship with the local government officials, first responders and U.S. embassies help us proactively address risks to students and quickly address security concerns.
Everyone’s tolerance for risk differs and it is important that you have a serious discussion with your family about what risks and uncertainties you undertake when you study abroad.
CIEE has programs everywhere. Just picked one and be amazed.
