From Seville to the Sahara: An Unforgettable 3-Day Adventure in Morocco

Are you an adventurous person that loves to travel? I have the perfect trip for you!

Studying in Sevilla, I had the perfect opportunity to travel to Morocco, considering the flight was so cheap because it’s so close. I think I can speak for myself and my friends that went that that trip was unforgettable and a once in a lifetime experience. We did a 3-day desert tour and it was amazing. It was one of those trips that changed your perspective on everything.

The first night we got there around 1 am so all we did was go to our hostel and sleep. One thing I will say about a trip like this, you do not need to spend a ton of money. My friends and I booked a $12 a night hostel, was it the nicest thing in the world? Definitely not, but considering we just needed somewhere to spend the night, it was perfect. The next morning we had an early wake up call at 7 am and we started our 10 hour bus journey to the Sahara desert. We made stops at the High Atlas Mountains and Tinghir and got to learn a little bit about Moroccan history and their culture. We were also able to get some cool souvenirs. We then continued our journey and stopped at a hotel where they gave us dinner and then performed a celebration for us and gave us all costumes to wear.

The next day we drove the rest of the way to the Sahara, only stopping for lunch. We finally reached the desert around 5 pm and it was beautiful. We immediately got on the camels and rode them all the way to the tents. Obviously we had to stop to take pictures and we were also able to sandboard down sand mountains which was so much fun, but also terrifying. After this we got to the tents, put our stuff down and ate dinner. After dinner, we gathered around a fire and they passed around tea and were making music while playing the bongos. It was so much fun, everyone was singing and dancing. We danced and hung out around the fire until it was time to go to bed, which then everyone went into their tents. The next morning we went ATV riding at sunrise and it was the most beautiful thing. The views were breathtaking and it was just so much fun. We rode the ATVs back to the meeting point and then we were able to shower and then we had to go back on the bus to start our 10 hour journey back to Marrakech on the bus. Overall, Morocco was a 9/10 experience.
