Seoul Adventures with Seoulmates
Dear Friends,
Two weeks ago, I was able to spend the whole day with two Seoulmates! We met up to make rice cakes but after, with a bunch of other friends, we spontenously explored Seoul well into the night.
The rice cake making activity was surprisingly super quick. We were in and out in probably 45 minutes! It was fun to make and I was shocked at how easy it was to do. It reminded me of making a Chinese dessert called tong yuan (until we had to flatten the rice cake haha).
When we finished the activity, we were all so hungry that we decided to walk to a nearby tteokbokki place called Miss Lee. I love this place because the tteokbokki is very different. It is on the sweeter side and the rice cakes are super soft. We spent awhile there to just chat and cool down from the heat.
Since we were near Gyeongbokgung Palace, we decided to take a quick visit. I've been there before but only in the winter so it was nice to go there when it was sunny. All of us were hiding from the sun though because it was too hot! I saw so many people in Hanboks which I thought was crazy because of the weather, I would've sweat so much if I had to wear it.
Since it was still pretty early into the afternoon, we decided to take the subway to check out Bukchon Hanok Village. This place is super cute because it is a Korean traditional village and has a pretty view of the city. We strolled around for a bit and stopped at a few stores before we ended up at a Toy Story themed cafe. It was so interesting to just look around the cafe because they had almost everything you could imagine! From a claw machine to the classic Toy Story sign, we spent a good 2 hours in the cafe just admiring the decoration. We also spent a lot of time talking with one another! I had a great time getting to know everyone, especially my Seoulmate Soyeon. She is it sweetest person ever and I'm so glad to have been able to spend an entire day with her.
Before we all headed home, we stopped by a photobooth center and took some pictures! Check out my cute friends in the photos above :) I love taking photobooth photos because they are so cheap here and are such a good way to remember everything! This day was so eventful and spontaneous, I had a really good time.
Talk soon :)
