Semester in Shanghai: Week 12 + 13
In week 12 I finally ventured off to the nation’s capital, Beijing! This was my favorite independent weekend trip during my time abroad because of how many iconic sights I was able to see. These sights included several temples, Tiananmen Square, and of course the Great Wall of China! The portion of the great wall we visited, Mutianyu, was a further trip from Beijing but far less crowed then the more popular areas of the wall. We took a cable car to the top and then spend a few hours walking the wall and taking in the sights. Then following weekend, in week 13, we visited Hangzhou, a city approximately 45 minutes from Shanghai by train. Here we ate excellent food, tried the famous HEYTEA drinks, and took pictures at the West Lake. To watch my Semester in Shanghai: Week 12 and 13 vlog click the link below.
