Colchagua - Santiago Study Tour
SPRING '19 BLOCK II - COLCHAGUA
Colchagua is the most important Chilean region for the production of wine, which is a key component of Chile’s economy. We will visit a boutique winery and while traveling from the town in the valley called El Huique to the beach town of Pichilemu, we’ll experience Chile’s geographical richness. At El Huique, we will connect with the history of Colonial Chile and its characteristic sociological phenomena which give shape to Chilean society nowadays. At Pichilemu, we will also see why this beach town is internationally recognized as an important surf center.
FREE TIME SUGGESTIONS
Venture to Molinos de agua de Pañul and see the windmill that was built in 1952 by a man who had no knowledge of reading or calculation. Today his children and grandchildren await your visit to taste their quinoa flour and ground wheat in this old water mill which uses the Rodeillo process. You can even take part in the production process.
