Classes in Spain!
When I studied in Sevilla with CIEE my junior year spring, 2022, I was surprised by the amount of classes they offered that could count towards my major. CIEE does a great job of making sure you can take classes that could be applicable to your major at your home institution, including STEM majors. I am an education and Spanish double major, and I was very communicative about my studies with my home institution and was able to get 15 credits with CIEE, and 3 courses counted towards my major. I took Social Justice Action Media, Cultural History of Spain, a practicum in a classroom, Women Writers 20C Spain.
I also had the opportunity to take courses at the University of Sevilla with Spanish students. I did not pursue this, because the courses I needed were provided at CIEE, but in high school I attended a public Spanish high school. Classes at CIEE vary, there are courses related to medicines, anthro, history, business, finance, marketing, econ, writing, journalism, communication, language, lit, and more. The courses at the Spanish university also vary and can be more geared towards your major. These courses are an amazing opportunity to get course credits out of the way while also learning a new language and from a different perspective.
I highly recommend checking out the courses offered for a program you are interested in on CIEE's website.
