Best Time to Visit Sevilla?
Having lived in Seville for nearly 2 years, I have developed great insight on the best time to visit the city.
Personally, my go-to answer is SPRING. There is so much going on during the spring months, you do not want to miss. My favorite things would be the Ferida de Abril and Semana Santa. These two events are both a week long. Semana Santa is essentially Easter, and it is called Holy Week. During the week there are processions, fair food, family gatherings, mass, and many other festives. I am Jewish, so being able to experience this was crazy, and I was shocked by the amount of people that crowd the streets, you barely can move.
The Feria de Abril is another traditional in April/May that is a week long as well. It is a huge fair with food, rides, casetas, DANCING, and every dress in Flamenco dresses and suits. Good luck finding a taxi home, you have to wait in the line for almost an hour, that is how many people there are.
These two events are very special and unique to Sevilla, and they are cultural musts when visiting Spain.
Not only are events a reason to go in the spring, but the weather. It is around 70-90 degrees from April-May before the summer heat attacks. The weather is so nice, you can go and explroe parts of the city in summer clothes, drink cold drinks by the river, and walk around just feeling GOOD.
