Tylar Colleluori
Tylar's Program
Ciao! My name is Tylar, and I am so excited to be one of the Program Leaders during Session 1 of the Exploring Rome through the Arts Program this summer!
I am currently a Ph.D. student at Columbia University, and I also received my B.A. and M.A. in Italian Literature from the University of Pittsburgh.
I started learning the language during my first year as an undergraduate in college, because of my family's Italian-American heritage. During my junior year, I fell in love with Italy while studying abroad for a semester in Florence. My experience in Florence changed my life, and my passion for learning about Italy has now turned into my future career!
I currently study Italian Literature from the Renaissance period, and I am lucky enough to teach my own Elementary and Intermediate Italian language courses, too! I also work as the coordinator for a language tutorial program in the Language Resource Center on campus. Even though I mainly study literature now, I love learning about art and exploring the connections between artists and authors throughout the history of Italy.
My favorite Italian artists are Caravaggio, Gian Lorenzo Bernini, and Artemisia Gentileschi. I am looking forward to exploring all that Rome has to offer with you this summer!
