Samantha A.
Hello! I am a university student by day, a writer in secret, and a traveller whenever possible. Born and raised in a small town, I was always that student that everyone thought would do wonderous things in life. Well, I can't say they're right (a Nobel Peace Prize has yet to appear at my door), but I can't say they're wrong either. I've been fortunate enough to have been able to study abroad twice in my life. Both exeriences were absolutely wonderful, and they changed me into being the person I am today. I went from a student not knowing whether they would even go to college to not only going to college, but am currently working on a Master's degree with the intention of getting a PhD one day. While the whole 'being an adult' thing is a learning curve, I always try my best (even though no one really knows the right way to adult; it's just a big guessing game). However, I rely on my experiences, as well as my passions to get me by. So far, it's taken me to 13 different countries around the world and given me the privilage to meet many amazing people.
Having aquired the travel bug at fifteen years old, I try to visit new places whenever I can. I was able to participate in CIEE's Arts + Sciences program in Dublin, Ireland while working towards my undergraduate degree. I loved the organization, and made the decision to become TEFL certified with them, completing the practicum via their Destination TEFL program. The people who work here are lovely and genuinly want to see everyone succeed in their endeavours. It is definitely an environment that promotes growth, learning, and a sense of community. People will occasionally ask me questions about my experiences, and I'm happy to answer.
The need to write came at a very early age. It has always been something I have enjoyed. My mom can attest that, at three years old, I was already creating imaginary stories in my head that would lead to hours of daydreaming. Much to her relief, I switched from daydreaming to writing ficional novels in my free time. And no, none of them are published (yet). For all intents and purposes, they are currently 'in progress'.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day and a life of adventures!
