I am a Spanish Teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools with Lake Braddock Secondary Schools and have taught there for 6 years. I graduated with a Master's in Spanish Language and Culture from the Universidad de Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain, a Bachelor's in Foreign Languages: Spanish with a minor in Latin American Studies from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and Associate degrees in Liberal Arts and Fine Arts from Northern Virginia Community College.
I have studied abroad at the Universidad de Salamanca and also at the Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas in Antiguo Cuzcatlán in El Salvador. I have traveled to Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Spain, and Portugal. I live in Northern Virginia with my Salvadoran husband and we speak Spanish at home. I love Latino music and dancing bachata. I can "echar pupusas y tortillas" and "hacer cuajada" just like a native. I even make my own curtido and salsa.
I've never been to Barcelona before and am very excited to make its acquaintance. The Program Leaders here are amazing and ciee is fantastic to work with. I can't wait to continue out the summer!
