Arts + Sciences Seoul, South Korea
Hometown: Cherry Hills Village, Colorado
Hello! My name is Kelsey and I was rasied in Cherry Hills Villiage, Colorado. While in high school I played volleyball at the varsity level and eventually commited to play volleyball at the University of Rhode Island. However, during my freshman year I realized that I was not where I wanted to be, so I moved to New York to attend New York University. At NYU I study East Asian Studies with a focus in Korean civilization and culture. I also have minors in Korean, Law and Society, and Philosophy. I study this to prepare me for my application to attend law school this year.
I chose to apply for the Seoul CIEE Arts and Science program this semester, because it gave me a chance to attend one of the most prestigious universties in Korea, Yonsei University, and gave me the chance to see in person a culture I have loved for a long time. Since I was in my teens, I was introduced to the Korean culture through movies and korean dramas. From this I eventually fell in love with Korean music and eventually the culture itself. Korea has opened my eyes to a whole new world of food, people, religion, culture, and much much more. I hope that through my blog you will see the amazing day to day experiences I have in Korea even within the restrictions of a pandemic. Welcome!
