Karen Hendrickson

Hello! My name is Karen Hendrickson and I am the Senior Program Leader for Tokyo High School Summer Abroad, Session 2. My first experience in Japan was as an gap year student following my high school graduation. That was my first of - count 'em - 33 trips to Japan...and there's no end in sight! This CIEE experience will be trip number 34 for me. Perhaps it's the first trip for you, or maybe you're going back after having traveled to Japan in the past. Whichever kind of participant you are, I am committed to helping you have the best time ever on CIEE! When I am not in Japan, I might be on my bicycle in the countryside or helping my husband run his import business. I recently quit teaching Japanese after 24 years in the classroom to pursue job opportunities in Japan. I look forward to exploring and enjoying Japan with you this summer!
