Cary Nathenson

Cary Nathenson has overall responsibility for the academic quality of all CIEE programs. His team develops academic policies, supports faculty development, and provides registration services for our students. Cary joined CIEE as director of the Berlin Center and has also served as Regional Director of Operations. Prior to CIEE, he worked as associate dean for Humanities, Arts, and Sciences at the University of Chicago and as assistant dean for graduate programs at Northwestern University’s School of Professional Studies. Cary has held faculty positions at the University of Houston, Northwestern University, Duke University, and Grinnell College. He earned his doctorate in German from Washington University in St. Louis.
