Growing up as Japanese-Filipino, Rumi has always been surrounded by people from diverse backgrounds. She is passionate about encouraging others to explore beyond what they have always known and to engage in different cultures and values. She believes that studying abroad and connecting with people from different walks of life is an incredibly enriching and life-changing experience.
