The Ping Taylor Professional Fellows Grant, established by CIEE and AIFS, supports international education professionals by funding their attendance at pivotal conferences. These grants aim to equip leaders in the field with the tools and knowledge to drive meaningful change, ensuring that global education becomes more accessible for all.

The most recent class of Fellows attended Diversity Abroad’s Global Inclusion Conference in Washington D.C. from October 29-November 1, 2024. Here’s what they had to say about their experiences:

Dechen Albaro, PhD, Assistant Director, Outbound Mobility

“My cup is full of inspiration, new ideas, and perspectives. I am excited to implement the ideas I’ve learned and collaborate with my new connections. Already, I’m working with colleagues to improve support for parents in study abroad and pre-departure sessions.”

Danielle Walters, PhD, COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) Manager, University of Tennessee, Knoxville

“This experience deepened my commitment to fostering inclusive and accessible learning opportunities on a global scale. The vibrant energy of Washington, D.C., set a fitting backdrop to the dialogue and change we are working to achieve in international education.”

Ana López, Senior Study Abroad Provider, CSU

“This fellowship is an amazing opportunity to learn new strategies to better advocate for our students, break down barriers, and increase diversity in study abroad. I’m eager to continue creating meaningful study abroad experiences for California students and beyond.”
