Happy 15th Anniversary to CIEE Global Institute - Madrid!

Congratulations to everyone at CIEE's Global Institute- Madrid, which celebrated its 15th anniversary this month!
On January 8, 2005, the CIEE Madrid team held a new arrival orientation, welcoming four students at the #uc3m campus cafeteria. So far in January 2020, the team has welcomed over 300 participants in Teach and Volunteer in Spain, College Study Abroad, Gap Year and High School programs to the CIEE Global Institute - Madrid, which is located a few steps from the Puerta del Sol, Madrid's main metro hub and center square!
CIEE in Madrid has expanded from an advanced level Liberal Arts program, to now include direct enroll programming for STEM, Business, and Legal Studies. In 2014, CIEE introduced the popular Teach in Spain programs that place over 800 participants annually as Teacher and Cultural Assistants in numerous Madrid public schools. And, in 2015, the CIEE Global Navigator High School program began enrolling high school students in language, culture, and arts courses. In 2017, CIEE's Open Campus block program was introduced, making Madrid part of CIEE's Global Institute Network where college students can design their own program comprised of one, two, or three 6-week academic blocks.
CIEE staff and teachers in Madrid represent a multicultural team with backgrounds from Spain, the U.S., Italy, Colombia, Netherlands, Morocco, Senegal, France, and Curaçao. Eero Jesurun, Director of the Global Institute - Madrid, says, "Together we are excited to provide such highly reflective intercultural, people-to-people immersion experiences."
