Five Atlanta Students Win Full Scholarships to Study in Germany
Cassandra and Sophie Binney of Druid Hills High School, Mary Heekin and Jonathan Kiger of Marist School and Emily Wang of Walton High School have been awarded full scholarships to study in Germany for a year through the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange. This cultural immersion program is funded by the United States Congress and the German Bundestag, Germany's parliament.
Fifty students were selected from the southeastern United States; 250 were selected across the nation. The students will have orientation in Washington and cultural excursions to the Bundestag and select German cities. They will live with German host families and attend a German high school.
CBYX scholarships are awarded after a competitive process that weighs academic records, teacher recommendations, student essays and a personal interview.
