What Does an English Teacher Do in Ireland? Job Breakdown
As a teacher in an intensive English summer camp, you’ll be responsible for leading classes of up to 20 students. Your students will be teenagers from around the world who are eager to develop their language skills in an immersive English-speaking environment.
You may teach English to students at all proficiency levels, but most will likely be at the beginning or intermediate level. You'll develop your own lesson plans based on a syllabus and curriculum provided by your school. CIEE TEFL’s 150-Hour TEFL Certificate course will give you the knowledge and skills to be a successful teacher.
Where You'll Be Teaching
Teachers in the CIEE Teach in Ireland program are hired by private English language schools located in and around Dublin. These schools provide intensive English summer camps to teenage learners from around the world, with many students coming from Spain, Portugal, Italy and Brazil.
