HELLO THERE!

You might be reading this blog to check out what is it like to be in the CIEE Teach in Morocco Program, or to see what it is like working while living in Morocco, or maybe, you just somehow stumbled upon it in some other manner. Either way, I can promise that this blog will be the best (and only) blog I have ever stuck with as I am an "official CIEE blogger". I wanted to have some way to keep me documenting my journey in Morocco, so I applied for this position, got it, and now there is no way of not keeping track.

So who am I?
I am a 27 year old Midwestern girl who spent the year teaching in France.
This coming year will be my second year teaching ESL, but this time I will have more responsibilities, which I am excited to take on. I am recovering from having a retina detachment which almost made me not able to take on this new job but with lots of rest, I was able to heal on time!

3 questions I got asked a lot this summer when people found out I would be teaching in Morocco:
1. How did you find out about teaching English in Morocco?
I googled 'Teaching English in Morocco' and CIEE was the first thing that popped up.

2. How was the application process through CIEE?*
It was a lot, not gonna lie. Lots of emailing back and forth to make sure this was the program I wanted to commit to -     and it was!
    * I will have a separate post about the application process to get a real feel for what it was like.

3. Are you nervous about living in Morocco?
No. I have been fortunate enough to have visited this magical country three times already. Sure, I am nervous/anxious about the newness and starting a new job, but I am ready for it!

I cannot believe that I will be leaving in 5 days! I will be exploring Fes, Agadir and Rabat before the program starts.
Am I all packed and ready? Mostly, yes, but there are a few final things I need to get - like pumpkin spice scented candles. :D

Well, this is the first of many posts and I cannot wait to see what my experience in Morocco will be!
