I have lived in Spain for a total of about 15 months now and I wanted to reflect on the feelings that I get when I leave and return. I named this post "Calling Madrid my home" because I really feel like a local. After being in the U.S. for a little over a month, I was curious to see how I felt when I got back to Madrid. I had chosen to live in the same appartment so it felt amazing to get off the plane and be able to take the metro straight to my house. I also already had my Obono (metro card) and knew my way around the underground.  Madrid is starting to feel like my true home. Last year, I had the oportunity to DJ and tour with a group from the U.S. entitled "Cunninlynguists" while they were touring Europe. I remember that I was with them in France and they were finishing out their tour. They told me "I'm jealous that you get to go home right now." That was one of the times that I remember being in another country and being ready to come back to the place I can call home ~Madrid. This also happened to me when I was in Greece and flew back into Spain. I felt as if I was returning to my life when I arrived last month. The fact that I already had friends, could already speak spanish, and I already knew people at the school, really made the trip back to Europe and the return to the job very fun and fulfilling!

The first picture was taken when I arrived back to Spain within the first few days I got here. The second picture was taken after some private lessons at the Paco De Lucia Cercanias/Metro station in Montecarmelo. The one on the bottom is when I was on tour in France. We were under this boat that was a concert venue.
