Walking Tours, Eclipse, Artisanal Market, OH MY!
We have been busy learning, doing, exploring, and adventuring over here in Santiago! Everyday has been packed from morning until night, but with lots of relaxation and down time built in. The students have started their entrepreneurship classes and have started digging deep into what it means to be an entrepreneur. Some of them have even started talking about what they will do for their final projects! Yesterday and today, we had special guest speakers come to tell us about their businesses, which has helped motivate our students and show them that creating their own business IS possible! Besides our business classes, we have had two Spanish classes, which we call "survival Spanish" and the students have learned a ton in just a few hours, but it's safe to say that they are learning most from their host families, who are not only teaching them the language, but are giving them a first-hand experience of Chilean life. Many of the students had a great time watching the big soccer game last night!
Of course, there is some fun mixed into all of this!
A TOUR OF SANTIAGO
On Tuesday, we had a walking tour of Santiago and got to see some of the famous sites. Of course, everyone was very excited to see the eclipse that was happening, so along the way, we stopped to take in the views.
VISITING THE ARTISANAL MARKET SANTA LUCIA
On Wednesday, we spent some time at Santiago's oldest artisanal market where we walked around to see all of the jewelry, clothing, and traditional items being sold.
Friday will include a tour of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda's house and then an afternoon of market research! That's all for now!
