Viking Splash Tour
Our Global Navigators have been hard at work over the past few weeks in a variety of different ways. They have been engaged in the classroom with their professor as they attempt to gain a better understanding of the entrepreneurial field and what they as high school students can do to prepare themselves for college and beyond. They have been hitting the road and traveling not only all over Dublin but also all over Ireland. They have interacted with many bright minds, have had stimulating conversations, and have soaked up as much culture as can be possible. So on the last Wednesday of their program we took them on a Viking Splash Tour!
Popularized especially in coastal cities like Boston and New York, Viking Boat Tours allow travelers the opportunity to take a tour with a unique perspective in the city they are currently visiting. Dublin is no different and as the students took their seats they were treated to an informative encounter and the chance to see Dublin from a different viewpoint. We saw some staples of the city such as Dublin Castle (the seat of British rule when Ireland was still part of the U.K.) and Christ Church Cathedral (one of the more famous churches in the city). We even had the opportunity to get our sea legs as the duck boats took a dip in the harbour to see some of the docks that help support the vibrant Dublin economy.
After the tour, we thanked our guides and gave our best Viking roar one last time. As the students disembarked from the boats they were all feeling confident about the sites in and around the city center. Pretty soon they may be giving these tours themselves after becoming Dublin experts.
