Traditonal Chinese Painting ,Calligraphy, & Taichi
Today (Wednesday) we were taught by an instructor to learn how to paint lotus flowers, grapes, and peonies using Chinese methods. We were told that each picture represented something to the Chinese culture. For example. the grapes represents fertility because each individual grape has seeds, and the seeds represent children. Afterwards, we practiced Chinese calligraphy. We first learned how to write the characters that translated to “Heaven and man.” Both forms of art are beautiful and I am very grateful to get the opportunity to learn more about it.

Today ( Thursday) we learned taichi. As opposed to anaerobic sports like running which can tire you out a lot, taichi is an aerobic activity that is more relaxed and is easily enjoyed by everyone. We had help from two teachers -- Wang Laoshi and Guo Laoshi were fun to learn from. They taught us plenty of cool new moves to show off our knowledge of taichi in China!
