Sweet Sweet Sénégal Second Session
“Touchdown!” one of the students exclaimed once the plane had landed after 18-24 hours of stress delays and cancellations, we were very excited to see and be welcomed by the beautiful country of Senegal. Going through customs and baggage claims, students were starting to feel the warm sense of nationalism with the Senegalese national teams’ faces all over the airport and came to once the heat had started to take a toll on them walking out of the airport. The students were finally on their way to downtown Dakar, on the minibus, staring out the window, mentally realizing huge differences between cultures. Once we arrived in the exquisite neighborhood of Sacre Coeur, the students were instantly impressed by the aesthetic-looking architecture and were happy to find out that they were between walking distance from each other and started to become aware of the fact that this is their new home and their new reality for the next three weeks. Check out some photos of our first hours, days, minutes of Dakar.
