Sevillanas y Cajón
Each group (we have 5 different groups of 9 or 10 students) participated in a 2 hour class in which we learned how to dance the traditional "Sevillanas" flamenco dance. First we learned the dance steps and finally put it all together with music. Meanwhile in a room next door, another group learned how to play the "cajón", a box-like percussion instrument. We learned the proper striking techniques and how to play a Sevillanas rhythm. Then the Sevillanas dancers joined the Cajón players to make music and dance. It was a wonderful experience for all!
