Senegal Session 2: Life in Senegal
Woohoo! We finally made it through one full week. A full week of being immersed in a different culture and creating new boundaries. It was very nice watching the students learning more about the history of western Africa and Africa as a whole. To start off the week the we went to our volunteer site. we as global naviagtors created pottery with the kids that are deaf or mute teaching them. As a whole were so happy to see and interact with the students at our volunteer sites we made memories that would last a lifetime. After that, we took the students to a school to help with the reforestation project with Permaschool and to our surprise, the kids from our volunteer sites were there and so were more neighborhood kids. They were so happy to help plant trees and the students also played sports and games with them. We ended the day by reflecting on how planting trees made an impact and how it would benefit the people as a whole. All in all, we are stepping into this week on a very positive and optimistic approach.
