The weather in Paris has been lovely, and the CIEE Paris Global Navigators took advantage of the lovely day with a picnic in front of the Eiffel Tower.

The Champ de Mars is a large green space located between the Eiffel Tower and the École Militaire, or military school. The grounds used to be used as drilling grounds for the French military. Now, it's mostly used as a picnic spot with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop. The Eiffel Tower is the most famous monument in Paris and the world! In 2015, 6.91 million people visited the Eiffel Tower. It was named after the architect Gustave Eiffel. It is nicknamed "La Dame de Fer", or the Iron Lady. It was built between 1887-1889 for the World's Fair.

The whole group of students went by metro to the Champ de Mars, an open space in front of the Eiffel Tower. The sun was shining and the students were able to relax a bit after classes. A pick-up game of soccer was played with students and some staff members. Some students also played badmitton. There was even a spontaneous yoga class with the Eiffel tower as the backdrop. Snacks and drinks were shared, and a lovely time was had by all.
