Museum of Street Art
Following the first week's module, which explored the classical arts of St. Petersburg, the second week's module helped to unfold the various movements of art that can be seen in the architecture, paintings, and facades. Students began to notice remnants of the Baroque Age, to the Silver Age, as well as Art Nouveau all throoughout the city. The final week delved further into the contemporary art world in Russia, as well as the different forms of art we're surrounded by. As we explored in the Erarta Contemporary Art Museum, it's all about the angle at which you view a piece of work. A highlight from this last week was a visit to the Museum of Street Art in the northeastern industrial area of the city, which houses the Laminated Plastics Factory, active to this day.
Following the tour of the Museum of Street Art, students tried their hand at street art during a master class in stencil making.
