MORE STICKY RICE, PLEASE... OUR FIRST TWO DAYS HAVE BEEN A SUCCESS
After countless hours of travel by plane and van, we have arrived to the study center in Khon Kaen! Everyone is recuperating well from our long travel day and is very excited to learn about Thai culture and experience all that the program has to offer.
These past two days have been filled with welcoming and introduction workshops geared toward group bonding and getting to know each other. Yesterday the students were able to take part in a traditional Baci Ceremony, which calls for your soul to return to you after travel. The ceremony entails string tying and provides students with well wishes for their time in Thailand. The day wrapped up with a welcome dinner full of traditional Isaan food. The Thai sticky rice was a big hit!
