Introducing CIEE’s New High School Study Abroad Podcast!
This week, we’ve officially launched the first episode of our new high school study abroad podcast: “Out of Your Comfort Zone.”
The podcast aims to keep our Global Navigator Alumni connected through fun, alumni stories and help high school students discover study abroad opportunities and find out why study abroad is worth it!
You can watch episode 1 now by clicking the play button below, checking us out on YouTube or listening in on Spotify.
Our premiere episode is all about what homestay life was like in France for three U.S. high school students!
What is a Homestay?
A homestay provides an opportunity for you to live with a host family, share meals and truly immerse yourself in a new setting. Our participants often say that living with a homestay is one of the greatest parts of their high school study abroad experience!
With Global Navigators Kristy, Quáedyn and Isabella, it was no different. This past summer, they all spent four weeks living with a host family either in Paris or Toulouse.
Listen in on their chat to find out what their summer abroad in France was like!
Which High School Study Abroad Programs Include a Homestay?
To provide you with a completely immersive experience and greater language gains, all CIEE Global Navigator Language & Culture programs include a homestay as a core program component. Depending on the location, our topic programs may also provide a host family experience.
CIEE host families do more than just provide you with housing and meals.
They are invested in your language learning and cultural experience, working with you to stay in your target language, sharing traditional recipes with you and connecting you with others in the community!
High school summer abroad 2024 applications are open!
