Fancy Fancy Fancy Restaurant!

Today was an awesome experience for the students. We went to DUOC which is a specialty school for students in Valpo who are training to work in the hospitality industry. We ate at their ¨¨5 star restaurant¨. Students from the school were the servers, cooks and host staff and were evaluated on their service by their teachers and by us. We were treated like kings and queens. We were trying to figure out all of the silverware, there were so many forks, knives and spoons we were not sure what went with what dish. (ha ha!)
Level 2 students have been learning in class about how to order in a restaurant and role-playing conversations between a waiter and client. This activity was part of the Community Conversation for Level 2 students, so they were in charge of ordering the food for the table and asking any questions. Shout out to level 2, they did a great job!
