The Democracy at Work competition invites CIEE BridgeUSA participants to showcase the tangible impact they've had on their U.S. communities and/or vice versa, emphasizing the transformative power of international exchange. Participants are encouraged to express their experiences creatively, whether through visual arts, storytelling, multimedia presentations, or any other medium that best captures their unique journey.
The winner will receive a trip to the CIEE International Exchange Conference 2024 being held in early October in Washington D.C., a premier gathering of global leaders, educators, and advocates in the field of international exchange! This conference provides an unparalleled platform for networking, professional development, and sharing best practices in fostering cross-cultural understanding and collaboration. If unable to attend the conference, a CIEE Scholarship will be awarded instead. Don't miss this chance to celebrate the real-world outcomes of democratic principles in action!
Objective
The primary goal of the competition is to celebrate and highlight the positive influence CIEE BridgeUSA participants have had on American communities or the reciprocal impact of their community on them. By fostering a sense of shared responsibility and mutual growth, the competition aims to showcase the real-world outcomes of democratic principles in action.
Submission Guidelines
Participants are encouraged to choose a creative 2–3-minute video to showcase the impact they have had on their community.
