CIEE Security Alert – Jordan

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have reported that Iran has launched a missile attack against Israel as of late Oct. 1. The development comes a few hours after the US government stated that an attack from Iran against Israel was imminent.

Projectiles from Iran which were enroute to Israel were intercepted over Jordan according to local reports.  Jordan’s state news agency reports that it has suspended Jordan air traffic temporarily. As a safety precaution, CIEE Amman students were told to follow local authorities’ instructions and to remain home.

Our Amman staff is maintaining constant communication with all CIEE Amman participants. As this is a developing situation, we will continue to monitor the situation closely and remain in contact with our participants to ensure their ongoing safety.
