Biography

Erik Pérez earned his B.S. in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) and his M.A. in Economics as a Fulbright Scholar in the U.S. He is currently working towards his PhD in Educational Leadership at Western Michigan University. He has been an Adjunct Professor of Economics at Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) in Santo Domingo since 1990 and in 2009 was appointed founding Director of UNIBE’s International Business School. In this role he had oversight of both academics and the administration of the BBA dual degree program with FIU and WMU, the Professional MBA with FIU (both programs taught in English), and the MBA in Spanish, also offered in partnership with FIU.

During his tenure as Director of the International Business School 4 cohorts of the BBA, 10 cohorts of the MBA in Spanish, and 3 cohorts of the PMBA graduated successfully. Prior to working in academia on a full time basis, Erik accumulated a vast experience as an international executive in the Technology and Telecom industries having worked in the USA, Central America and the Caribbean for over 20 years for multinationals such as Verizon (previously GTE Corp), Cable & Wireless, Centennial Wireless and Inovaware.
