CIEE Expands Cultural Exchange Opportunities in Ireland

We are excited to announce the launch of a new direct-to-market initiative in Ireland; an effort that deepens our commitment to international education and cultural exchange and builds on the strong foundation of our CIEE Dublin Center, which has been a hub for U.S. college students seeking transformative experiences abroad.

Enhancing Access and Affordability

Cultural exchange should be accessible to everyone, but financial barriers often prevent many students from participating. With this initiative, CIEE aims to reduce those barriers by offering J1 and BridgeUSA programs directly in Ireland at lower introductory fees. By making these programs more affordable, we hope to empower more students to pursue international experiences that broaden their horizons and enrich their personal and professional lives.

With a well-established presence in Ireland since 2006, CIEE’s expansion into direct-to-market programs for Irish students traveling to the U.S. represents a natural progression. “CIEE has been a proud supporter of international exchange for over 50 years, and we are excited to extend these opportunities directly to Irish students,” said Sheelagh Daly, Director of Sales – Ireland for CIEE.

Strengthening Two-Way Exchanges

For over five decades, we have proudly hosted Irish J1 participants in the United States, helping students gain invaluable educational and cultural experiences. This new initiative expands that tradition, creating more opportunities for Irish students to explore the world.

Our partnerships reflect our dedication to fostering global understanding: the Douglass O’Connell Global Internship program, developed in collaboration with Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs, and our work with the African American Irish Diaspora Network (AAIDN) represent a shared commitment to meaningful cultural exchange. 

Additionally, the launch of InternHub, our new internship portal, will provide even greater access to professional placements for participants in Ireland and beyond.

This new initiative represents a significant step forward in our mission to create life-changing opportunities through international education. We look forward to helping more students embark on their journeys of discovery and growth.
