Make your study abroad dream a reality! Each year, we award Global Navigator scholarships and Academic Merit Awards to thousands of high school students across the U.S. Now is your chance to apply to the largest high school study abroad scholarship fund in the country and experience the summer of a lifetime.

Our programs take you to one of 35+ destinations to learn a new language or explore a topic you're passionate about! The Academic Merit Award covers $500 from your program tuition costs and is awarded based your academic merit.

Fill out the form and complete your Academic Merit Award application by April 10, 2025.

Our Language & Culture programs help you gain fluency in one of 9 languages! French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Arabic. Live an authentic immersion with a homestay and come home with 4 college credits!

Spend 3-8 weeks this summer with like-minded peers, exploring a topic you love! Whether it’s arts, STEM, business or social change, our topic programs provide you with tons of hands-on learning opportunities!

Our selective high school study abroad awards are a distinguished achievement, granted based on your academic record, that can help you stand out on your college applications and strengthen your resume for career opportunities.

What Types of High School Scholarships Can You Apply For?

You can currently apply for an Academic Merit Award. This award covers $500 from your tuition costs. You don’t need to submit your parent(s)'s or legal guardian(s)'s financial information to apply!

FAQ

High school scholarships and awards to study abroad aim to make the cost of studying abroad with CIEE more affordable. Academic Merit Awards can cover $500 from your program tuition (this is the price listed on every high school summer abroad program page of our website).

Note: Award money cannot cover the cost of airfare to and from the country, passport or visa fees, or personal spending money.

All our CIEE Global Navigator High School Summer Abroad programs offer Academic Merit Awards.

Our awards are competitive and based on academic performance. If you have a strong academic track record, we strongly encourage you to apply!
