Today, only 2% of U.S. students study abroad during high school. At CIEE, we are passionately committed to fostering a more empathetic and culturally competent society through study abroad. We believe that studying abroad in the formative years of adolescence is when the impact is greatest, making high school summer abroad programs truly world changing. Afterall, positive change is like a ripple effect—once one person experiences it, they can help others do the same.

FAQs

Our prestigious and competitive Global Navigator Scholarship (GNS) covers between $500 to 100% of a student’s high school summer abroad program tuition. Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and financial need. 

Interested applicants must submit their parent(s)'s or legal guardian(s)'s financial information to apply for this scholarship as well as their school record. Find out more about the CIEE Global Navigator Scholarship.

When you refer a student to a CIEE program using your referral code, the referred student automatically gets a $200 discount. When he/she/they travel, CIEE contributes another $200 donation to the CIEE Global Navigator scholarship fund in your name.

Here’s how you can refer students to CIEE programs: 

  1. Log in to your my.ciee.org account 
  2. Find your unique referral link on your dashboard.
  3. Share your link! You can post it on social media, create a QR code for posters and handouts, or send out mass e-mails!

It is important to note that the referred student must start their CIEE application with your unique link for the referral to count.
