Student Spotlight: Serene days by the Atlantic coast by Lidija Radzevičiūtė
Over the past two weeks, we had the possibility to spend our days by the calmingly roaring Atlantic ocean. Not only did we swim in the (freezing) water, played volleyball, or sunbathed by the coast, but also involved ourselves in meditating techniques and teambuilding practices with our outstanding lecturer Richard Bilodeau.
The life on campus has been very vibrant too. We have met many locals, who were very friendly, SMCC students, who the Baltic boys played basketball with, jazz camp attendees, who we sang with while watching the full moon at the beach, and many more! We couldn’t be more thankful to the American community that warmly welcomed us here.
Prolonged sunset walks by the bay will always have a special place in our hearts. These carefree evenings have been a really great opportunity for us to learn more about differences and similarities in our worldviews, languages and culture. This program has given us a possibility to connect, listen and understand each other. I can certainly say that getting to know so many like-minded young leaders has been a truly profound experience.
During these two weeks in the US we had many opportunities to get inspired and to inspire, to learn and to share, to be grateful and to grow! Huge thanks to BAFF and CIEE!
